Jump Rope Workout

Most of us haven’t picked up a jump rope in years. But there’s a reason jumping rope is the preferred type of cardio training for athletes like boxers. It’s a phenomenal workout!

Give this jump rope workout workout a try.  It incorporates HIIT principles as well as some strength training for the abs and upper body.

30 seconds (s) jump rope

30 s skaters (or grape vine for beginners)

30 s rest

30 s jump rope

30 s burpees (or push ups from the knees for beginners)

30 s rest

30 s jump rope

30 s mountain climbers (or plank for beginners)

30 s rest

1 minute jump rope

1 minute rest

Repeat this cycle as many times as you like. Four times works out to about a half hour workout.
